About the standard

The rail profiles follow EN 60715 (IEC 60715), the standard for mounting rails in low-voltage switchgear and controlgear: top hat rails TH 35-7.5, TH 35-15, TH 75-25 and TH 15-5.5, C rails C 20, C 30, C 40 and C 50, and the G rail G 32, with the widths, depths and web spacings of the standard. The 17.5 mm module of modular devices is the common practice.

The blocks are our own drawings after the profile dimensions of the standard, not copies, and the library is not certified. Slot patterns, plate thickness, devices and terminal blocks are typical sizes, not those of one manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Which rails are included?

The top hat rails TH 35-7.5 (the common 35 mm rail), TH 35-15, TH 75-25 and TH 15-5.5, the C rails C 20, C 30, C 40 and C 50 and the G rail G 32, as sections, on a plate, and in front view. The control panel library has devices in front view; this one adds the sections and side views.

Are the slot patterns standardized?

EN 60715 gives the profile, not the slot pattern. The slotted rails use 5.2 mm wide slots, 15 or 25 mm long, which are typical for common steel rails. If your rail has a different pattern, change the block or use the solid version and add the slots.

Can I use the symbols in commercial projects?

Yes. They are free to use and modify in your own projects, including commercial ones. They are provided as is, without warranty.

Does it include terminal blocks and devices?

Yes, as typical shapes: terminal blocks from 2.5 to 50 mm2 in front and end view, PE terminals, strips of 5, 10 and 20 poles, and modular devices in side view from 55 to 100 mm deep. Use the order number attribute to name the real product.

Can I change a symbol or add attributes?

Yes. Open the DWG, edit a block with BEDIT to change it or add attributes, and save. To update drawings that already contain the block, run ATTSYNC or replace the block. Make a backup first: attribute values can be lost if ATTSYNC is used carelessly.

Where do I find a ready-made set of these symbols for AutoCAD?

AutoCAD itself ships only a small set of sample blocks, so a full symbol set has to come from a library. Download the ZIP on this page and open the DWG: every symbol is a block. Insert one with INSERT (Blocks palette, Libraries tab, then pick the DWG) or drag it from DesignCenter (ADCENTER). You can also download a single symbol on its own.
