About the sizes

Catering and shop fittings are not standardised, so the blocks use the sizes that suppliers commonly list: tables 600 to 900 mm square or 1200 to 2400 mm long, round tables 600 to 1500 mm, gondolas 450 or 900 mm deep, ranges 600 to 900 mm wide, checkout counters about 1600 mm. Check the sizes against your supplier's data sheets before you order.

The blocks are our own drawings, not copies of any catalogue, and the library is not certified. They are meant to plan the arrangement and count covers, not to prove that a plan meets hygiene, fire, accessibility or occupancy rules. Take aisle widths, seat spacing, kitchen clearances and exits from the rules that apply to your building.

Which items are in the library?

Dining tables with chairs (square, rectangular, round, pushed together), high tables and stools, booths and banquettes, chairs, bar counters and service points, kitchen equipment, cold rooms and storage, shop shelving and display, checkouts and customer service, fitting rooms, and 4 layout markers. The page above lists every group with its count.

Can I change the number of chairs at a table?

Yes. Tables come with 2 to 10 chairs in the common sizes; for another number, explode the block and delete or move chairs, or build the table from the table and chair blocks. Every chair is a separate object after exploding.

Can I use the symbols in commercial projects?

Yes. They are free to use and modify in your own projects, including commercial ones. They are provided as is, without warranty.

Does it show that a plan meets hygiene or fire rules?

No. The blocks help you draw and count; they do not check anything. Kitchen clearances, aisle widths, seat spacing and exits depend on your building and your local rules, so take them from the rules that apply.

Can I change a symbol or add attributes?

Yes. Open the DWG, edit a block with BEDIT to change it or add attributes, and save. To update drawings that already contain the block, run ATTSYNC or replace the block. Make a backup first: attribute values can be lost if ATTSYNC is used carelessly.

Where do I find a ready-made set of these symbols for AutoCAD?

AutoCAD itself ships only a small set of sample blocks, so a full symbol set has to come from a library. Download the ZIP on this page and open the DWG: every symbol is a block. Insert one with INSERT (Blocks palette, Libraries tab, then pick the DWG) or drag it from DesignCenter (ADCENTER). You can also download a single symbol on its own.
