Block attribute
A named, editable text field attached to a block — like a title block's "Drawing No." or "Revision" field.
A block attribute is a labeled piece of text tied to a block definition (defined once, in the block editor) that gets its own value on every reference of that block — a title block's sheet number, a valve tag, an equipment ID. Attribute values are what varies from one placement to the next even though the surrounding block geometry is identical.
Because attribute values are structured (a fixed set of named fields per block), they're the natural thing to batch-export to a spreadsheet, edit in bulk, and write back — as opposed to plain drawing text, which has no such structure.
