Tag (Plant3D)

The unique identifying label a Plant3D asset carries, e.g. a valve number — analogous to a name plate.

An asset's Tag is its unique identifying label within the project — a valve number, an equipment ID — the field most likely to need bulk renumbering after a P&ID revision. Unlike a UDA, Tag is a built-in property every asset has.

Because Tag identifies the asset for people reading the drawing (not just for the software), it's usually the first column in any Plant3D data export.
