Paper space
The layout environment used to compose a printable sheet from model space geometry.
Paper space is where you lay out a drawing sheet for printing: title block, one or more viewports looking into model space, sheet-specific notes and dimensions. A single drawing can have many paper space layouts — one per sheet — all pulling from the same model space.
"Layout" and "paper space" are often used interchangeably; strictly, a layout is a named paper space tab, and a drawing can have several.
