Symbol Palette Organisation Licence (CXL-1.0 Licensed)

Updated October 25, 2026

This licence applies to the licence keys of the CADXChange Symbols palettes sold on cadxchange.net (for example the IEC 60617 palette for AutoCAD). It is part of the CADXChange library terms CXL-1.0 (Licensed). The licence number printed on your order and in your account identifies your licence. This page is the Organisation licence; the Individual, Organisation and Education licences of the libraries and circuit libraries have their own pages.

1. What the licence covers

The key unlocks every symbol of the licensed palette on the computers where you activate it. Symbols marked as free work without a key. The symbol libraries on the website (DWG files) stay free under the library terms; the licence pays for the palette itself: browsing, searching, placing with attributes, carrying values to the next symbol, favourites and the interface languages.

2. Who holds the licence and on how many computers

The licence belongs to the organisation that bought it: one legal entity. How many of its people may use the palette is set by the seat band that was bought (up to 25, 100, 250 or 1,000 people, or no limit on people); the people counted are the employees who actually use the palette. The key may be activated on up to that many computers of the organisation. A larger number of users needs a larger band; the licence can be upgraded to a larger band at any time by paying the difference.

Contractors, freelancers, subcontractors and clients are not covered, even when they work on the organisation's projects: they need a licence of their own. Subsidiaries and other companies are covered only if they are named in the licence; each further company needs its own licence.

You can free a computer in your account and activate the key on another one at any time.

3. What you may not do

Give the key to anyone outside the licence holder, publish it, or sell or rent access. Use it beyond the computers or people the licence allows.

Copy, redistribute or build into another product the palette or the symbol data it contains, bypass or remove the licence check, or offer the palette as a service.

The drawings you make with the symbols are yours, including commercial ones and drawings you deliver to clients.

4. Activation and checks

Activation needs an internet connection. The palette checks the licence from time to time and keeps working for up to 14 days without a connection. A licence that was refunded or revoked stops working at the next check.

5. Duration and updates

The licence is perpetual for the product you bought, including the updates released for it. A later major version may be sold separately. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

6. Symbols are drawings, not engineering advice

The symbols are drawn by CADXChange. They are not copies of any standard, they are not certified, and they are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. ISO, IEC and other names belong to their owners; the palette is not affiliated with them. Check every drawing against the standard or the legend you work to.
