About the sizes

Office furniture is not standardised, so the blocks use the sizes that manufacturers commonly list: desks 1200 to 1800 mm wide and 600 to 800 mm deep, office chairs about 600 mm wide, 600 mm of table length per seat in meeting rooms, cubicles of 1800 to 2400 mm. Check the dimensions of your furniture supplier and the space per workplace your local rules require.

The blocks are our own drawings, not copies of any catalogue, and the library is not certified. They are meant to plan the arrangement, not to prove that a plan meets space, fire or accessibility rules. Take aisle widths, space per person and exit requirements from the rules that apply to your building.

Which items are in the library?

Desks and workstations (desks with and without a chair, L-shaped, corner, height-adjustable and hot desks), benches for 2 to 10 people, cubicles, a phone booth and a focus pod, 5 chairs, meeting tables with 4 to 16 seats, round meeting tables, huddle and high tables, a meeting pod, 13 storage items, reception and lounge furniture, equipment, a kitchenette with fridge and coffee point, partitions and 3 markers.

Can I change the number of seats of a bench or a meeting table?

Yes. Benches come with 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 seats and meeting tables with 4 to 16 seats; for another number, explode the block and delete or move chairs, or use the desk blocks and the single chair blocks. Every chair is a separate object after exploding.

Can I use the symbols in commercial projects?

Yes. They are free to use and modify in your own projects, including commercial ones. They are provided as is, without warranty.

Does it show that a plan meets space or fire rules?

No. The blocks help you draw and count; they do not check anything. The space per workplace, aisle widths and exits depend on your building and your local rules, so take them from the rules that apply.

Can I change a symbol or add attributes?

Yes. Open the DWG, edit a block with BEDIT to change it or add attributes, and save. To update drawings that already contain the block, run ATTSYNC or replace the block. Make a backup first: attribute values can be lost if ATTSYNC is used carelessly.

Where do I find a ready-made set of these symbols for AutoCAD?

AutoCAD itself ships only a small set of sample blocks, so a full symbol set has to come from a library. Download the ZIP on this page and open the DWG: every symbol is a block. Insert one with INSERT (Blocks palette, Libraries tab, then pick the DWG) or drag it from DesignCenter (ADCENTER). You can also download a single symbol on its own.
