CXAREAMeasuring and polylinesVersion 1.0.0Tested in AutoCAD

Write the area inside closed shapes

Writes the area as text in the middle of every closed polyline, circle or ellipse, in the unit you want, with your own prefix and suffix.

How to use it

  1. Type CXAREA and select the shapes.
  2. Enter a unit factor: 0.000001 turns mm2 into m2, 1 keeps drawing units.
  3. Enter the number of decimals, an optional text before and after the number.

Good to know

  • The text is placed where it fits inside, even in L- and U-shaped outlines. Open polylines are skipped.

Load it in AutoCAD

  1. Save the file anywhere you like.
  2. Type APPLOAD, pick the file and choose Load.
  3. Type the command name: CXAREA.

To have it at every start, add it to the Startup Suite in the same dialog, or load a whole folder at once with the optional loader. About the optional loader

Tested in AutoCAD (full version). Other programs that run AutoLISP may work, but they are not tested.

The code

Plain text, nothing hidden. Copy it into a file named cxarea.lsp, or download it.
